Carburetion
Carburetors have been around since the car was invented. they have obviously changed as time has gone by, but still work on the same principal of mixing fuel with air.
Paragon has been repairing carburetors since its inception in 1987. The carburetors are still out there in various forms that require repair. Throttle shafts that wear out are now repairable to give that old carb new life, and make it run like new. All carburetor repairs are done in house and are backed by a 1 year warranty. Throttle shaft repairs are backed with a lifetime warranty.
Old car enthusiasts that want to keep their car original will want to have their carburetor professionally rebuilt, rather than replaced. The replacement carburetor will not have original numbers on it, and therefore will not be stock to that vehicle. Depending on the application, this can be very important. Most parts are available for carburetors, but sometimes have to be ordered, depending on application.
Vehicles that still have carburetors for fuel delivery, but are in the need of repair, should have the original rebuilt also. Too many times have we heard of the carburetor being replaced and the old one given back for core, only to find the "new" one is worse than the original. The customer then does not even have the old one to repair, and now finds themselves "in a pickle" so to speak.
Carburetors are also available new. Changing that old carburetor for a new one will see substantial increases in driveability, because every year changes are made that mix the fuel and air more effectively. Holley, Carter, Demon, and Edelbrock, just to name a few, are all available at Paragon. |
